BBBS Programs

Traditional Big/Little Community Match

Youth are matched with a screened and trained volunteer, engaging in weekly activities at the mentee’s home or within the community.

In School Mentoring

Youth are matched with a screened and trained volunteer, engaging in weekly activities at the youth’s school for approximately one hour during a time arranged with the parent and teacher.

Community Boys Group

Monthly activities within the community for males on the mentoring waitlist to promote the power of mentoring while providing experiential opportunities for youth.

Teen Mentoring Group

Current Matches

A group of screened teen mentors volunteer with a group of mentees once a week at a local school.

Rainbows

A 12 week in school program that meets weekly with a trained HYC volunteer to help youth cope with and navigate loss through death, divorce, or any other major life transition.

Prism

Prism, a parent of the Rainbows program, is offered to the parents/caregivers of youth participating in the program. Prism focuses on helping parents enhance their communication skills regarding grief and loss to better support their child.

School year programs are offered from mid-September to June. Staff are available to assist you in choosing the best programs for your 6-18 year old. To register for school year programs, please complete a membership form or register online.

HYC BGC Day Camps are available when schools hold PD days, during Teacher's Conference, and Spring Break.  

The ages, times, cost, and activities vary for each day camp. Day camps will be cancelled if minimum enrollment is not reached.

To register for school year day camps, a current membership is required. Your child's spot will be confirmed by staff once payment and permission slips have been received and only as spaces allow.

Summer Programs

A wide variety of themes, crafts, activities, and day trips are offered weekdays in July and August from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Families can register for week long camps based on their child's age. Participants are required to be an HYC member to register.

Please note, subsidies are available. 

Summer Day Camps

A week of half day art activities during the summer led by a local artist. Art projects vary and include different medias and skill levels. Camps are offered in the mornings for youth aged 6-9 years old and in the afternoon for youth aged 10-18 years old.

Weekly activities and trips during July and August are offered for teen members aged 12-18 years old. Teens may fundraise the fees for these trips (fundraising opportunities are provided by HYC); access subsidies; or pay the fees directly.

Art Camp

Teen Summer Program

Teens who would like to help out in their community or would like to fundraise the fees of the teen summer trips can join our staff in a variety of fundraisers over the course of the summer. Fundraisers vary from year to year but may include bottle drives, bake sales, yard work, and other jobs. 

Contact our staff if you are interested in teen fundraisers for the summer.

Teens aged 13-18 years old can volunteer in our Summer Day Camps for 6-12 years old. Volunteers will have the opportunity to build leadership skills, attend workshops, gain valuable references and volunteer experience, and improve confidence for future jobs. Teens will have the opportunity to choose a schedule that works for them.

Half day program (Session 1: 9am - 12pm, Session 2: 1pm - 4pm) for 9-15 year olds providing opportunities for youth to learn and practice coding, gaming, and more.
